Press Release of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development

From June 8th to 11th Card. Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, the Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, shall visit Astana, in Kazakhstan, as the “Commissioner of participation of the Holy See” at the inauguration of the event EXPO 2017: “Future Energy”.

The Holy See, which participates in the World Fairs since 1851, shall be present with their own pavilion, entitled “Energy for the Common Good: Caring for our Common Home”, as produced at the contribution also of the local Church. The theme of the future energy deepens in it, intended as an opportunity of promotion of the human and of improvement of our “common home” on the basis of a fair and a sustainable use of the natural resources.
 
The expository structure of the Holy See avails of installations of digital character and envisages that visitors shall be guided also along photographical, artistic, cultural, and spiritual routes that; it develops four thematic areas:
-love of God, which originates creation of the human and of the earth;
-energy, as an instrument put into human hands and life, which has not always been effectively and correctly used by them in times;
-energy turned to the integral human development and to the care of our common home;
-spiritual energy, with a particular reference to prayer, to the search of the religious sense and an interreligious dialogue.
 
Inauguration of EXPO 2017 shall be held on June 9th, the same for the pavilion of the Holy See, the following morning. Card. Turkson shall be accompanied by H.E. Mons. Francis Assisi Chullikatt, Papal (Apostolic) Nuncio in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, and by representatives of the local Church. The National Day of the Holy See is scheduled in the programme for September 2nd, 2017.
